SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 19, 2011SolarCity, a national leader in solar power financing, design, installation, monitoring and energy efficiency services, today announced that Dan Foster has joined the company as vice president of sales. Foster will report to CEO Lyndon Rive and oversee SolarCitys growing national sales organization. He brings more than 20 years of executive-level sales experience to his role. Foster joins SolarCity at a time of increasing growth. The company passed the 10,000-customer mark in December, hired more than 450 new employees in 2010, and recently added a range of new energy efficiency services to its existing offering. Dan Foster has consistently grown revenues and evolved sales organizations at every step in his career, said Rive. SolarCity is already the largest solar service provider in the nation, and we expect to double in size and sales again this year. Dan is the perfect leader to help us reach our future goals. Foster joins SolarCity from MegaPath, Inc., North Americas leading provider of managed IP communications services. As MegaPaths executive vice president of sales, Dan grew the companys annual revenues from $5 million to $500 million. Prior to MegaPath, Foster served as president and CEO of Phoenix Networks, a national broadband service provider. Earlier in his career, Foster was a partner at Analysis Group (formerly INTEGRAL, Inc.), an international management consulting firm. SolarCity is creating a national company that will have a lasting impact; to significantly increase Americas use of clean power, said Foster. I share SolarCitys vision and look forward to building the leading sales culture in the sustainability space. Foster holds dual bachelors degrees from Tufts University in engineering and literature, and he received a fellowship to intern with the U.S. Department of Defense as an engineer. He has also completed Harvard Business Schools executive program for management development.
